Sick Doctors Trust

Established in 1996, the Sick Doctors Trust is an independent and confidential organisation, offering telephone support and help to doctors and medical students suffering any degree of dependence on drugs or alcohol. They are happy to take anonymous calls and also to talk to colleagues or family members of anyone experiencing dependency issues.

They will give imparital advice including information on treatments available, and both national and local support groups. Furthermore they can offer contact in many areas with a doctor who has suffered from addiction and experienced the process of recovery and rehabilitation.

They can also offer advocacy and support for those involved in proceedings before the General Medical Council or the Civil Courts.
